Who’s that hairy character on the right?
You may already recognize the guy on the right as my brother, Randal, who was Master Works supervisor for several years in the 90’s when we first moved to Bennington. (see # 80) Who is that with him? Jerry Reed Smith from Song of the Wood in Black Mt, NC. Jerry had been offering our instruments for years and wanted to get out and meet and greet folks he had been promoting in his shop. He flew into DFW and visited us at Wood N’ Strings then off we drove up to Oklahoma and Master Works to meet Randal and all the craftsmen there and tour the shop. We had a great time getting to know each other plus he and my parents got along fabulously. Jerry must have been impressed with what he learned as he started selling more and more of our instruments. In fact, he still sells more of our instruments than any other from his shop in N.C. Merla and I always visit he and Lisa and Jo Ann (his sister who actually runs the shop) to help eat up their Thanksgiving left-overs on our way home from Greensboro, N.C. Weather permitting, we might even chase a golf ball!
