Red Haired Boy.

The winter of 82 was an exciting time…of course I can’t think of a single boring time in my life of dulcimer building and playing.  But a dear friend, John Bouquoi (I think that’s how it’s spelt), had offered to support my efforts to get started in the dulcimer business by loaning me $1000 to purchase some inventory to fill my little retail shop in downtown Ft. Worth and then even more money to finance my first album.  It was called “Red Haired Boy” named after one of the fiddle tunes I performed in winning the National Contest the previous September before starting Wood ‘N Strings the following October of 1981.  No, it definitely was anything but boring.  Anyway, another friend, John Robbins, Dana Hamilton’s father-in-law was kind enough to shoot some photos to use on the album cover and these were taken at Log Cabin Village in south Ft. Worth just across from the zoo.  I think I still wear those overalls!
